"Beautiful brows make you feel like a million bucks."
When it comes to brows the slightest change really can make the biggest difference. Your brows should balance, enhance and lift the eye. We don't believe in trends - we believe in as natural a shape as possible - the brow that suits you.
Brow PhilosophyAt Inglewood Beauty Bar we have chosen to offer brow tweezing instead of waxing, for many reasons:
- more control for precision shaping
- waxing is far too aggessive on the delicate skin of the eye area
- side effects of waxing can be extremely harmful if you are taking certain medications ('retin A' | 'accutane' | or other prescription acne medications) or if you have had cosmetic surgery around the eye area
- clients are far more comfortable as we work with them one row at a time until we reach the desired shape.
Brow Emergencies Problem: overtweezed or sparce brows Solution: Jan Marini lash conditioner for lashes and brows.
Use for 2 months and then see a brow specialist - or during these 2 months, visit a brow specialist for a lesson on how to fill in and shape your brows with powder, pencil and gel.
Problem: very light eyebrow hair Solution: brow gel
A daily application of tinted brow gel (make sure to choose the right color or see a professional for this). Another option is to have your brows tinted by a professional. This solution can last up to 6 weeks with no home color maintenance.
Tips to help with brow maintenance between visits to your specialist
- invest in a good pair of tweezers to prevent hairs from breaking off at the skin - purchase angle cut tweezers - points should only be used by professionals
- take your time - mistakes happen when you rush
- avoid creams on the skin - you will find it difficult to grab the hairs if they have residue on them
- be careful not to remove the tail end of the brow during at home maintenance
- clean your tweezers regularly with alcohol, you will find they grip much more efficiently
- tweeze only in the direction of hair growth to prevent breaking the hair
- do not tweeze along the brow shape - it only takes a few missing hairs to change the shape of a brow. Leave that area to the professional (only tweeze the strays between your brows or on the eyelid area)
- tweeze in window light and mist water on the brow area to find blonde hairs that you might have missed
- tweeze after a shower - hair is less likely to break off and is less painful, or apply a warm cloth for 5 minutes prior to plucking
- be careful when using a magnifier - step back and look in a regular mirror often - it is very easy to over tweeze when using a magnifier
- hold skin taught as you pluck - it's less painful
- you may find tweezing more painful when you're menstruating - try to tweeze at another time
- to reduce post tweezing pain - hold an ice cube on the area for a few moments
